Slate

I was laying in bed trying to sleep the other night when it suddenly dawned on me how much fun it would be to draw on the floor... no I hadn't been drinking :eek: Couldn't get the idea out of my head and couldn't go back to sleep either... soooo... I got up to stare at the floor :o

Remembering the lesson my sister learned at an early age relating to art supplies and floors, walls, cabinets, doors, curtains... well it was a long list... overall, I didn't feel like getting in trouble and couldn't pry the slate of the floor either :(

I did find a couple of chipped pieces outside at midnight and scribbled on them to see if my brainstorm would work - it did and I bought a few small tiles Thur.

Gave my "prototype" to my mom for her bday :) 6"x6" prisma on slate... and no I haven't looked into a sealer strong enough for them to be a backsplash, lol!

Eek!

Boo- Hoo! Third try at this... I couldn't figure out how to add a comment to my own blog ... so I WAS going to post it here... but that didn't work either... I wanted to say : TY to my friends who stopped by and even took the time to comment... now if only I can figure out what the world I'm doing!!! :crybaby:

Postcards

A couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to unwind a little after finishing up the largest piece I've ever tackled to date. I find that small "mini" works give a much needed "fast" sense of completion. When you work for up to three months on the same piece every day, a simple one day turn around is a very rewarding and welcomed feeling! I've wanted to work on these two for a very long while now - they're owner has passed on now but he was a close friend, his herd was and always will be the most inspiring group I've ever worked with. His children are managing them now and I hope to go back soon. Not sure I'll be able to turn the red twist cow into a larger piece due to a very tiny picture to work from but I'm wanting to try it as a companion piece to the "Lady in the Water". One dusty and warm and the other wet and cool.
