Dingers Final Chapter

And to catch up on the recent happenings - an update on the "Dinger Daughters" who's true title should be "Weathering the Storm". I orig. started this creation as a commission; however, the clients decided to go with a smaller size. I redid this picture to thier standards and was also inspired to do a new piece from the same two models... Pictured below is the orig. large piece, the smaller remake, the first print from the large one, and the "sun/moon" inspired one called "Like Day and Night"... and myself *rolling eyes* The great news is that I have kept the print for myself, the client has their mini orig., and the large orig. and sun/moon piece are now property of The Butler Longhorn Museum. This museum is the largest collection of all things longhorn and a truely awesome place with the best people, they are always a pleasure to work with and I'm glad that they are getting back on their feet after Gustov delt them a hard blow. They have my very first colored pencil piece and my work is in wonderful company there : http://butlerlonghornmuseumandheritagepark.com/
I've been gone from here a bit longer than I meant to. Now that it's warming up I'll come back out of hiding ;) Soooo, I'll start by updating the slate a little bit...
I find them fun to do from time to time when I just want to sketch loosely for a bit. Some I like more than others, but isn't that how it always goes? The more I work on one; the less I like it. It is very easy to overwork them! I like it best when the stone lends itself to the artwork and shows through. The spots/specks/and colors in the one below is all from the rock itself and is my all time favorite so far :)
